Literature Text

It is who we are within
that really does count.
That is where sin
or virtue will spout.
The outside is a shell
and never stays the same,
but the beneath is a well
for each person's true aim.
It is the personality
that defines who we are,
and in cold hard reality
will limit or take far
the relationships we build
with the people in our lives.
Our hearts are filled
with the people that jive
and give off good vibes.
For relationships to last
and love to survive,
we have to look past
what's on the outside.
It's inside the soul
where we really reside
and harbor our goals.

So when someone looks in
and sees the real you,
your defenses are thin,
there's little you can do.
When somebody sees
who you are deep inside,
what they find can please
and fill you with pride.
But should they reject
the real person you are,
you lose self-respect
and are left with deep scars.
I didn't mind my looks,
but I endlessly cried
when it went on the books
that I'm ugly inside.
Goes with its sister poem, Ugly on the Outside.

Somehow, i seriously doubt your "ugly on the inside". To write something of such quality, I know when I see such beauty!
