Tears in Water

Does a mermaid know how it feels to cry?
Of course she doesn't; her eyes aren't dry.
But does she still feel the pain inside
when it feels like a piece of her has died?
That, she must; she has a heart, too,
which could also easily break in two.
Then how does she express her pains and aches
when her beautiful little mer-heart breaks?
She can sob and scream for all to hear,
but no one can ever see her tears.
But if there are no tears, did she really cry?
She feels the same, but one can't deny
that, regardless of if you're a god or a potter,
you still cannot have tears in water.
